All Day | Fall 2021 SGA Election Nominations (Multi-Day Event) The MWCC Student Government Association (SGA) will be holding their Fall 2021 elections in September and are looking for students that would like to run for a seat on the SGA. Those students that are elected will serve for the 2021-2022 academic year. The SGA serves as the voice of the students to the college administration. They meet regularly to discuss topics of interest, student concerns, ideas for change, and more. Members serve on various college committees, oversee student organizations, expenditure of student activity fees, and other tasks as needed. Students that serve on the SGA have an opportunity to be a voice for others, develop leadership and networking skills, and make a difference on campus. Any student that has a desire to get involved and meets the requirements is eligible to run. Requirements for SGA Positions:
Members must maintain a minimum of a 2.0 GPA Members must be registered for a minimum of six credits at any MWCC campus/web Members are expected to attend classes.
Responsibilities for SGA Members:
Members must attend all SGA meetings. Ccurrently set for every other Wednesday evening at 5:30pm via Zoom for the fall semester.) Members must belong to at least one standing committee or ad hoc committee as appointed by the SGA president or committee chair Members shall be directly responsible to the needs of the student body and shall regularly consult with the students on all matters Members are expected to participate in SGA sponsored events Members must be available to work regular shifts at the SGA Booth/Virtual SGA Office on a regular basis. Members must comply with all requirements and responsibilities contained within the SGA Constitution and By-Laws.
If you would like to run for the SGA please complete the Fall 2021 SGA Candidate Request Form. Please note that once your Candidate Request has been approved, you will be sent a link to the SGA Nomination Signature Form and you will be required to obtain signatures from 7 currently enrolled students at MWCC. These 7 signatures will be needed before you will be eligible to appear on the election ballot. All signatures must be received no later than 12pm on Friday, September 17, 2021.

All Day | 2021 Virtual Summer Leadership Academy (Multi-Day Event) It's not too late to join! All sessions may be accessed via the recordings, so feel free to jump in at any time. Don't let the summer go by without getting a jump on the Fall 2021 semester! Join us for the 2021 Virtual Summer Leadership Academy to learn how to be a rock star leader on campus this year. We'll be learning about leadership with Jason LaVasseur from the Rock Star Project, doing community service in our own neighborhoods, conducting some self assessment, networking with others, and so much more! This program is open to all new and returning MWCC students and is FREE to attend. Meetings will be held via Zoom on Tuesdays, 10am-12pm, on the following dates: 7/20, 7/27, 8/3, 8/10 & 8/17. Meetings will be recorded for those that are not able to attend live, although live participation is strongly encouraged. In addition to scheduled meetings, attendees will conduct community service on their own throughout the (5) weeks and there will be one or more optional activities! Participation in this program will appear on your co-curricular transcript and all attendees will receive MWCC Leadership Academy SWAG. Register TODAY to be tomorrow's Leader!
