Event Description:
Join students and advisors from across the Massachusetts Community College System to learn more about SAC (Student Advisory Council) You will learn the history of SAC, what SAC is, why it is relevant to current community college students, and how you can be more involved in SAC. Just as every college has a Student Senate/Student Government and a Board of Trustees, the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education has advisory boards, and SAC is the student advisory board that brings the voice of the students to the state level.
In this session you will hear from Stacy Bougie, the current Department of Higher Education Advisor to SAC, current and former members of SAC, as well as current and former Board of Higher Education Student Members. As we near the end of the spring semester, SAC will be gearing up to elect the BHE Member and Segmental Advisors for the next academic year and this session will provide you with the information on these vital positions and the process.
